What this calculator actually checks
For Denmark, the 2026 highly paid employee route has a guaranteed monthly salary threshold of DKK 65,400. Qualifying researchers are a separate category. The scheme taxes qualifying gross earned income at 32.84% and can run for up to seven years. The Danish Tax Agency also states that prior Danish tax liability can disqualify applicants, subject to detailed exceptions.
For the Netherlands, the 2026 expertise salary threshold is €48,013, or €36,497 for qualifying under-30 master's graduates. Scientific researchers at designated institutions and doctors training as specialists can be exempt from the salary threshold. Recruitment from abroad and the 150 km residence test also matter. A decision can run for up to five years.
Why there is no “estimated take-home” yet
A reliable net-income comparison requires ordinary tax brackets, social-security treatment, deductions, caps and the exact way the special regime interacts with each item. Version 1 screens eligibility instead of presenting a deceptively precise net salary. That comparison can be added country by country once each calculation model is verified.
